Remember the old stories ? When folks used to travel on foot for miles and take a break under the shade of a tree before resuming their long inevitable journeys? Chaayaa wishes to be the same – for the busy souls from the cities - a break from the hectic hustle of the skyscraper town. We welcome you to take a pause in this tiny shade that our grandparents built so that you can re-energize before you head back to your essential daily grind!
A ~3000sqft, three room villa with ample space, wooden ceilings, oxide flooring and long verandahs facing the greenery, Chaayaa is ideal for those who wish to spend some moments in a simple house nestled amidst the orchard with mango, jackfruit and nutmeg trees abound!
Stroll around the orchard amongst the trees and in season, help yourself to a plateful of organic mangoes and jackfruits. Listen to the chatter between the Barbets, Coucals and of course, the Jungle Babblers and try spotting the elusive Blue Mormon butterfly gliding through the greens!
Chaayaa is ideal for those seeking to soak in the wild nature, have quiet evenings and enjoy the simplicity of a village life. You can explore around the village– a morning walk by the paddy fields, evening by the river, a 30min walk to the check dam (if you are lucky, step in and wet your feet too!).
For those who love to move - there's the gorgeous beauty of Athirapally waterfall, an hour's ride away. Trek down to the waterfall or catch a quick sight from the view point!
Still not satiated? Visit 1000+ year old Shiva temples within the radius of 15kms from Chaayaa. And for the cultural aficionados, Chaayaa also makes it easy to take in the celebrations of Thrissur Pooram (~15km), Arattupuzha Pooram (~3 km) and Peruvanam Pooram (~5km) !

In memory of our grandparents, we have chosen to keep the premises Alcohol and Non-veg free.
The area has simple Udupi cafes and snack bars within 4-6 km range(not too many though). There is a mall with a food court 6km from the homestay.
Currently, we are working to make the premises friendly for all. We will make the update as soon as we are ready. Till then we want to let you know that two of the three guest rooms are upstairs.
Via train : Nearest railway station is Pudukad (PUK) [3 km] and city station is Thrissur [15 Km].
Via bus : For private buses, “Pudukad Junction” or else Thrisshur / Mannuty would work as well.
Via flight : Nearest airport is at Nedumbassery (~60km).
Since we are on the outskirts of Thrissur city, getting an Uber is a matter of luck. For our local travels, we usually prefer autos and pre-hired cabs.
